Getrude C. Stockman

United States Coast Guard Veteran, Stockman, Gertrude C. (McDonough) of Hingham, formerly of Brewster, passed away on January 7, 2018. She was 97.

Retired CDR, U.S. Coast Guard Reserve with 36 years of service.  She was a 1940 graduate of Simmons College. Gertrude worked for many years until her retirement for Arthur D. Little Company. Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Stockman, Sr. Loving stepmother of  Edward J. “Ted” Stockman, Jr. of Charlestown, Jane (Stockman) Cuchural and her husband, George Cuchural Jr, MD, and family, of Hingham, Brian T. Stockman and his wife Noreen and family, of Needham. Sister of the late Stella (McDonough) Eckerly. Loving aunt of John and Dawn Eckerly of OH, Susan Eckerly of DC, Edward and Vivian Eckerly and Anne and Lawrence Lazarz all of IN.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 2-4 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9 AM. Burial will be held at Mass National Cemetery, Bourne, at 10:45 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
