Gertrude Shea

Shea, Gertrude (Shea) of Medfield MA, joined the angels October 14, 2016.

Gertrude’s zest for life and wonderful sense of humor enriched the lives of all who knew her. Her pride in her Irish heritage was rooted in her youth growing up in Dorchester a part of a large loving family. Gertrude had an amazing sense of humor, a smile that would light up a room and lived her life with grace and dignity. Gertrude’s main passion in life was her family, especially the times spent playing with and caring for her grandchildren. Gertrude was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and active in the Catholic Daughters of America for many years. 

Beloved wife of the late Francis X. Shea. Loving mother of Paul Shea and his wife Margaret of NH, Rosemary Aucella and her husband Peter of Lowell, Virginia Paine and her husband Mitchell of Hingham, Carolyn Brann and her husband Paul of FL, John Shea and his wife Jeanne of Milford and the late Maureen Shea. Cherished Grandma of Candace, William, John, Adriana and her brother Tyler Bourque, Sawyer, Sydney, Cameron, Paul Jr., James, Ryan and Dylan. Treasured daughter of the late John and Nora Shea. Caring sister of the late Jean McCarthy, Mary McMahon, June Roach, John Shea, William Shea, Anne Schuler, Walter Shea and Marguerite Foley. She is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:30 PM.
