Gertrude E. “Trudy” Ciampa

Gertrude E. “Trudy” Ciampa (Bower)  of Weymouth, a retired Weymouth school teacher, died December 11, 2015 at the age of 76.

Trudy met her future husband, Anthony, while they were both attending Boston State Teacher’s College. She went on to become a math teacher for the Weymouth School System for 30 years, retiring from Weymouth High School in 2000. She loved to travel and spent many summers in Center Harbor, New Hampshire with her family, where they made many lifelong friends. Trudy enjoyed collecting Annalee dolls.

She was the beloved wife of 52 years to Anthony F. Ciampa. Loving mother of Ann-marie Martin and husband Andrew of Plainville, Michael Ciampa and wife Denise of NH, and Joseph Ciampa and wife Maura of Abington. Devoted “Grandma” of Benjamin and Christopher Martin; Kristen Ciampa; and Grace and Charlotte Ciampa. Sister of Charlie, Mary and the late Joseph and John.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations in memory of Trudy may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
