Gertrude E. Carlisle

Carlisle, Gertrude E. “Googie” (Reynolds), 94, of Weymouth, formerly of Norwell, passed away September 2, 2022.

Gertrude was born in Boston to the late John and Ruth Reynolds. She grew up in South Boston and attended Charlestown High School. Gertrude was a bookkeeper for Alvin Hollis for 30 years. She enjoyed BINGO, cards and Mahjong.

Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Richard V. Carlisle. Loving mother of Richard Carlisle of New York, Linda McLaughlin of Maine, Brian Carlisle of Bourne, Joel Carlisle of Maine, Leslie Jackman of Abington and the late Laura Martini. Dear sister of Louise Parkop of Carver, Helen “Pat” Wolst of Florida, Paul Reynolds of Melrose and the late John Reynolds. Cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren and great and great great grandchildren. Also survived by her longtime friend Mimi Duggan and many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 11:30-1:30 in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 1:30 PM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
