Gertrude A. Day

Day, Gertrude A. “Trudy” (Sauntry) of Weymouth, passed away October 18, 2021. 

Trudy was born in Boston to the late John and Gertrude Sauntry. She was a familiar face at Humphrey and Hunt Schools in Weymouth where she met many families working as school secretary. She was very involved over the years with PTA events and as a Girl Scout leader at Immaculate Conception church, where she was a parishioner. She loved to bake for friends and family and proudly attended every game or event her grandchildren were involved in. Trudy enjoyed sailing with her husband Paul and was a member of the Wessagusset Yacht Club. They spent weekends at their Chatham home and enjoyed everything about Cape Cod.

Beloved wife to the late Paul F. Day of Weymouth. Loving mother of Debra Day Minahan and her husband Dennis of Duxbury and Susan Pourbaix and her husband John of Walpole. Cherished “Marmi” of Danielle and Jay Pourbaix and Brayden Minahan.
