Germaine Sullivan

Sullivan, Germaine of Hull, formerly of Hingham, died June 8, 2014.

Germaine’s family gave her the most enjoyment in her life.  She was extremely proud of her service as a nurse in Britain during WWII. In fact, that was where she met her future husband and followed him back to the United States to begin their life together.  She grew up in Wales, always loved the ocean, and kept her British citizenship for many years.  She and her husband traveled the world together, but Hingham was always home.  She is a long-time member of St. Paul’s Parish and a faithful communicant.  Her family will always remember her strong will, fierce independence, fun loving nature and keen knowledge of current events. 

Beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Sullivan.  Loving mother of Maureen Grote and her husband Jim of IN,  Janet Sullivan of IN, Patricia Sullivan of Hull, James Sullivan and his wife Debbie of PA, William Sullivan and his wife Suzanne of AZ & RI.  Grandmother of William, Anna, Sarah, Robert, Matthew, Michael, Daniel, Benjamin, Christopher and Theodore.  Great grandmother of Elizabeth, Rebecca, Jessie, Samantha, Kylie and Tristan.  Daughter of the late Dr. Thomas James and Anna (Ahearne) James.  Sister of the late William and Maureen James and Jacqueline Coulthard.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
