Gerard Roche

Gerard J. Roche, "Jerry" of Weymouth, originally from St. Gregory's Parish in Dorchester "OFD", passed away on November 23, 2024 at the age of 72. Jerry graduated from Milton High School, where he competed and won metals for the Track Team. He was a trolley driver and Inspector for the MBTA and retired after 30 years.

An all sports fan, especially for the New England Patriots, and later became nostalgic for what he dubbed the "Belichick Patriots" and enjoyed Sunday afternoons watching the "BP" games with his wife Val, fellow patrons and pleasant hard- working bartenders at KC's Pub & Grill in Weymouth. He was also a long time member of the Weymouth Elks.

Above all, he loved his home on the lake, where he liked fishing and other water activities, and by a cozy fire enjoyed many panoramic sunsets that he called "God's canvas in action". He took pride in his vegetable garden and enjoyed grilling and cooking. He also looked forward to hosting his annual 4th of July cookouts. He was kind,. considerate, loving, generous and outgoing with a great sense of humor and will be surely missed.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Valorie (Duncan) Roche. His siblings, Kevin Roche of Weymouth and Mary Fabrizio and her late husband Al of Marshfield. His brother-in-law, Phillip Duncan and his wife Monika of Florida and his sisters-in-law Norma Roche of Quincy and Val Roche of West Roxbury, as well as many loved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Roche, Brian Roche, and Paul Roche.
