Geraldine M. (Surette) Evans

Evans, Geraldine M. (Surette) of Weymouth, passed away on December 24, 2023. She was 91.

Born in Reading in 1932, she was one of eleven children to her parents, Anslem and Bridget (D’Entremont) Surette.

Geraldine was always ready for a party. She enjoyed bowling, golf, dancing, and the occasional glass of wine. Geraldine was also known to knit and sew; she even made some of her children’s clothing when they were young. She liked to sing in the church choir, attend family holiday gatherings and weddings, and playing cards at the senior center. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Evans. Loving mother to Richard Evans and his late wife Mary of Holbrook, Robert Evans and his wife Maryanne of Manchester, NH, Thomas Evans and his wife MaryLou of Whitman, Barbara Hatfield and her husband Roger of Plymouth, Mary Evans of Weymouth, Susan Gamble and her husband Scott of Taunton, and Elizabeth “Beth” Needham and her husband Scott of Londonderry, NH. Cherished sister to Paul Surette, Jeanette Surette, David Surette, Caroline Connolly, James Surette, John Surette, the late Henry Surette, the late Richard Surette, the late Phillip Surette, and the late Robert Surette. Also survived by 13 grandchildren,11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
