Geraldine L. “Gerry” Ryan

Geraldine L. “Gerry” Ryan of Hingham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2022.  She was 90.

Gerry was born in Presque Isle, ME to William Marr and Marjorie (Doody).  She met her husband James while he was serving in the Air Force.  They married and moved to Roslindale and then to Hingham where she was a resident for over 60 years.  Gerry loved to cook and even owned a sub shop at one time.  She was a Town River Yacht Club life member and spent a lot of her free time by the ocean or out on her boat.  She also enjoyed many trips to Florida and dancing with her beloved husband, James.

Beloved wife of 63 years to the late James Ryan.  Devoted mother of James Ryan and his wife Margaret of Haverhill and the late Thomas Ryan.  Loving sister to Wynonia Smith of Altoona, PA and the late Basil Marr.  Cherished grandmother of Matthew Ryan and his wife Ashley, Steven Ryan and his wife Tiffany and Amanda Fredette and her husband Sam.  She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 11 AM-1 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A graveside service will be celebrated the same day at 1:30 PM in Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree.
