Geraldine "Geri" Contos

Contos, Geraldine A. (Coughlin) “Geri” of Quincy, died January 14, 2025.

Geri adored her family, especially her husband Jack. They were high school sweethearts and have been inseparable ever since. They were known as “Jack and Geri”, as if it were one word. They loved to travel together, especially down the Cape, to Ogunquit, Maine, West Palm Beach in Florida and on numerous cruises. They were faithful members of Our Lady of the Airwaves church at Logan Airport and were performing members of the New Neponset Players theater group. Geri was an avid reader of all forms of literature and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles whether she finished them or not. Geri always loved visiting the beach and enjoying the ocean, as well as her love of flowers, and was always polished to perfection with her hair, makeup, and jewelry. Her nieces and nephews were like her children and she was the matriarch of the family. Although it is an oft used saying, Geri was the person you wanted to be with at any family gathering or party. She had a lively presence that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Daughter of the late Daniel and Eleanor Coughlin. Beloved wife of 49 years to John “Jack” Contos of Quincy. Cherished sister of Daniel Coughlin and his wife Deborah of Quincy, Richard Coughlin and his wife Andrea of Mansfield, and Robert Coughlin of Hudson, NH. Loving sister in law of Gregory Contos and his wife Josephine of Littleton, Lisa Smith and her husband Rick of Quincy, and the late Michael Contos. Daughter in law of the late John and Claire Contos. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 1/21/2025 from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Wednesday 1/22/2025 prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in Geri’s name to the Boston Children’s Hospital Blood Donation Center, 333 Longwood Ave. Boston, MA 02115.
