Geraldine Begonis

Geraldine “Gerry” Begonis (74), of Braintree, passed away suddenly on March 18th.

A longtime resident of Weymouth, she was an educator in the town’s school system, as well as at Fisher College. Gerry rose above many challenges and embraced life to the fullest. She loved to travel, explore new cuisines, and was a voracious reader. She had an infectious sense of humor and immense sense of adventure, and was known for her quick wit and creativity.

She is survived by her brother David and sister Maureen; as well as niece Elizabeth, nephew Joseph, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Friday, March 25th from 11am to noon at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home in South Weymouth at 809 Main St. (across from South Shore Hospital). Burial to follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
