Gerald C. Depesa

DePesa, Gerald C. “Gerry” of Hanover, 77, died December 11, 2020 at the Brockton VA Medical Center after a brief but aggressive battle with cancer. Gerry was born in Quincy to the late Louis and Mildred (Calnan) DePesa and attended Braintree High School. He was a proud United States Marine Corp. veteran who trained at Camp Lejeune and served in Guantanamo. Gerry enjoyed collecting antique postcards and coins, attending auctions, and studying genealogy. He was an arm wresting champion and competed in many tournaments. Gerry was a unique and generous man who will  be remembered fondly by many for his hilarious and riveting stories, and for his giving nature.

Devoted brother of Ronald L. DePesa Sr. of Norwell and Kenneth E. DePesa and his partner Patricia of Oceanside, CA. Proud Uncle of Ronald L. DePesa Jr. of Miami, FL; Michelle L. DePesa of Pembroke, Jeremiah P. DePesa and Golden S. DePesa of Oceanside, CA. He was also a proud great uncle to eight great nieces and nephews. Also survived by his longtime companion Elaina.  

All services for Gerry shall be private. Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with Gerry’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support clicking the link above and sharing a special memory or message.
