Koelsch, Gerald A. “Gerry” of Scituate, formerly of Quincy, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2015 surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren. 

Gerry was born and raised in South Boston. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He went on to marry the love of his life, Rosalie, also from South Boston, who passed all too soon in 1983. They raised their family of five children in Quincy.   Upon retiring from the City of Quincy custodial department in 1994, Gerry moved to Scituate. Gerry remarried to Eleanor (Pino) of Quincy for a short time, she passed away in 2012. He spent his retirement years enjoying family, friends, and his two beloved golden retrievers – Biscuit and Clem. Gerry will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. 

Son of the late Leo and Gertrude Koelsch. Husband of the late Rosalie and Eleanor Koelsch. Loving father of Patti MacKay and her husband Steve of Marshfield, Nancy Potter and her husband Dale of Pembroke, Tom Koelsch of Whitman, Carol Gerry and her husband Lester of Quincy, and Lois Rivers and her husband Matt of Pembroke. Brother of the late Leo Koelsch. Cherished “Papa” of Megan Owren and her husband Toby of Marshfield, Katie Kelly and her husband Gerry of Marshfield, Mike Viles and his wife Kacy of Weymouth, Kelly Viles and her fiancé Scott of Marshfield, Kayla LaForge and her husband Hayden of Quincy, Joshua Gerry of Quincy, Samuel Gerry of Quincy, Emmie Rivers of Pembroke, and Matthew Rivers of Pembroke and great “Papa” of Luke, Vanessa, Brynn, and Madilyn. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerry’s name to Children’s Hospital, 401 Park Dr., Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
