George W. Maier Iii

Maier III, George W. a lifelong resident of Quincy, died April 10, 2016.

George was a graduate of Quincy High School, class of 1959. George loved spending time with his family; sitting by the pool and attending plays and kids’ sporting events. George was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed watching Nascar races. George was a longtime member of the Quincy Elks Lodge 943. A man who would be described as funny, helpful and could always be found fixing things instead of replacing them.

Husband of Jacqueline (Sommers) Maier of Quincy. Son of Alice M. (Rego) Maier and the late George W. Maier Jr. Father of George W. “Butch” Maier IV and his wife Paula of Quincy, Kathy Hughes and her husband Matt of Quincy, John “Jack” Maier and his wife Jennifer of Quincy. Brother of the late Paul Maier. Grampy of Jacki, Ryan, Nick, Billy, Danny, Adam. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 9 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
