George W. Lea

George W. Lea of Weymouth, died October 25, 2014.

George had the privilege of living in various parts of the world and enjoyed many years on the West Coast before moving again to Weymouth approximately 39 years ago. He proudly served in the United Stated Air Force, retiring after more than 20 years of service. George was a retired railroad worker. He was also a proud member and past Commander of the VFW Post 1399 in Weymouth.

Beloved husband of the late Carmella Lea. Father of Jeraldine Hollander and her husband John of Weymouth and the late George “Skip” Lea and his wife Denise of Arizona. Loving brother of Dorothy Pike of Centerville and the late Edward Lea. Grandfather of 6 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-granchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.

Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of George may be made to Weymouth Food Pantry, PO Box 890009, Weymouth, MA 02189.
