George T. Hatfield Jr.

Hatfield, George T. “Butch/Butchie” Jr. of Hernando, FL and Northwood, NH, passed away with his family by his side on December 7, 2021. Butch was born in Boston to the late George and Ann (McCaffrey) Hatfield. He grew up in Wollaston and attended North Quincy High School. George and his wife Patricia settled in South Weymouth to raise their family. George was a master HVAC technician working for several years before becoming co-owner of a Boston based company. Through decades of being highly respected in his field, many members of Pipefitters Local 537 benefited from his knowledge and skill. George was a resource long after retirement.

George diligently endured and modeled a strong work ethic, showing it will provide the greater good that life has to offer. He cherished his extended family at Pine Point Park in Northwood, NH and in Citrus Hills, FL. George made the most of retirement with traveling, boating, golfing, being a kid at heart, “Life at the Lake,” and treasured time spent with his family.

Beloved husband of 51 years to Patricia “Pat” (Martin) Hatfield. Loving father of Cheryl LeBlond of Rockport, ME and Julie Crosby of Hanover, MA. Wonderful father-in-law to Andre LeBlond and Jason Crosby. Proud Papa of Jason and Eric LeBlond of Rockport, ME. Playful Papa to several “furry grandkids.” Brother of Nancy Savage, Jean Ayer and her husband Bob and Bill Hatfield and his wife Colleen; all primary residents of Florida. Butch was predeceased by his brother in-law and best friend Peter Savage.

George is deeply admired by family and friends that thought of “Butchie” as an extension of their father/grandfather/uncle figures. This greatly contributed to his happiness and legacy.

Relatives and friends are welcomed to greet the family during visiting hours on Saturday 12-4 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). George was an extremely charitable and generous gentleman.
