Lynch, George S. of Quincy, formerly of So. Boston died August 31, 2008. Devoted husband of Doris G. Toomey Lynch of Quincy, and the late Ann E. (Mayer) Lynch. Beloved father of Celia and her husband Jim Foley of Winthrop, George S. Lynch, Jr. and his wife Norma of So. Boston, Frank Lynch of Dorchester, Kathy and her husband Jim Rusk of Pennsylvania, Irene and her husband Eddie Trainor of Quincy, and Doris’ children Fred Toomey and his wife Marie of Saugus, and Pauline and her husband Jim McShane of Weston. Loving brother of the late Catherine “Kay” Eckert and Hugh Lynch. Cherished and proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. George is lovingly survived many nieces and nephews. George resided in Quincy since 1991, formerly from So. Boston. He served in the US Army during WWII. George was a member of the American Legion, John P. McKeon AmVets Post 146, and the Castle Island Association. He spent many years wintering in Marco Island, Florida. George was an avid Red Sox fan. He loved to sing and was best known for walking through the Wollaston neighborhoods singing his favorite songs. He will be truly missed by all those who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Thursday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 – 8 PM. Burial in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George S. Lynch may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, MA Affiliate, PO Box 845037, Boston, MA 02284-5037.
