George L. Mcgoldrick

George L. McGoldrick, Sr. of Hingham, MA passed away peacefully on July 11, 2016. 

Predeceased by his best friend and wife, Jane (Skippy), loving father of Elizabeth E. and Daniel Hunter of Bayshore, NY, Kathy and Bob Mulhall of Hingham, MA, George and Mary McGoldrick of Cohasset, MA and Michael F. McGoldrick of LIC, NYC.  Brother of Francis McGoldrick of Edina, MN and John McGoldrick of NYC.  Beloved grandfather of Katie and Carolyn Hunter, Bobby, Tara and Tim Mulhall and Maggie, John and Emmy McGoldrick. Favorite Uncle George to many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

George was a proud Villanova graduate, Korean War Veteran and received his MBA from NYU.  An investment banker in NYC, George raised his family in Rockland Country before retiring to Madison, CT. Upon his wife’s premature death in 2004, George moved to Hingham MA where he quickly became an unofficial mayor of Linden Ponds. His bright personality, wit and concern for others led him to make numerous new friends.  He will be missed at the many bridge tables he frequented.

Relatives and friends are respectively invited to visiting hours from 5-8 pm Wednesday, July 13 at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street (off Central Street), Hingham, MA.  The funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main Street, Hingham, MA at 10 AM on Thursday, July 14.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. McGoldrick may be made to the MSA Research Fund, Neurology Department, c/o BMC Development Office, 801 Massachusetts Ave, 1st Floor, Boston, MA  02118.
