Malames, George J. of Quincy October 26, 2004. Beloved husband of Mary (Zero) Malames. Loving father of Estella “Stella” Malames of Quincy, Thomas Malames of Norwell and the late George F. Malames. Loving “Pop” of Jamie, Eric and Nicholas. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Friday at 9 AM. Funeral in Saint Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, Braintree at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.George worked as a produce manager for Elm Farms in Waltham. He had a passion for fruit, vegetables and flowers and loved to tend his own garden. After working for Elm Farms, he went to work for Quincy Schools as a custodian. He also helped his son and daughter in law with their restaurant “Frannie’s Kitchen”. He was a proud grandfather, often driving his grandchildren to various activities. His family will remember his joyful laugh and recall him saying “laughter is the best medicine”. He was an active and frequent member of the Sheraton Tara Health Club in Braintree. Being a Greek immigrant, he was proud to be fluent in the Greek language. Swimming in Nantasket Beach, traveling to New Hampshire, shopping and spending time with his family were some of his favorite activities. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
