Derrane, George J. of Quincy, July 30, 2003. The beloved husband of Estelle (Hanson) Derrane of Quincy and pre-deceased by his first wife Anne ( Canavan). Loving father of John P. Derrane of Beverly, Rev. Mark G. Derrane of Lynnfield and Nancy C. Davenport of Brockton. Son of Helen (Galvin) Derrane of Randolph and the late Patrick Derrane. Brother of Joseph Derrane of Randolph and the late Paul Derrane. Devoted Grandfather of Anna & Luigi Derrane of Beverly and Sean, Katherine and Mary Davenport of Brockton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Monday at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 11 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 6- 8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Mr. Derrane grew up in Mission Hill and graduated from Mission Hill High School. Before working as an accountant for the Commonwealth of Mass. George worked for Sobin Chemical Company in Boston as an accountant. Mr. Derrane was the past commissioner of Quincy Youth Baseball League during the 1970’s. He had a passion for music, he played the banjo, guitar and the saxafone. Mr. Derrane also played Irish music with several different Irish groups.
