George H. Nix

Nix, George H. of Scituate October 26, 2006. Husband of the late Grace M. (Hardy) Nix. Beloved father of Teresa J. Smalley of Scituate and Trudy West of Little Rock, AR. Brother of the late Hazel Marie Dodson. Cherished grandfather of Jana Smalley of Sagamore Beach, MA; Jennifer Hunt of Honolulu, HI; Kevin Nix of Athens, GA; Valerie Lightfoot and A’Chai West, both of Little Rock, AR and the late Dwight West. Also survived by 10 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. George Henry Nix, devoted, loving father and grandfather, died October 26, 2006, at Kindred Hospital in Braintree, Massachusetts, at age 84. Mr. Nix was born in Vaden, Arkansas, November 12, 1921, to Della Ruff Nix and J.B. “June” Nix. He graduated from Sparkman High School in 1940 and served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific (Australia, New Guinea, and Philippines). He was a member of Unity Church in Little Rock and the Rosicrucian Order. He was married to the late Grace Marie Hardy Nix. He lived most of his life in Little Rock, AR, where he owned and operated George Nix Refrigeration Service Company for over 40 years. Shortly after retirement, he moved to Massachusetts.
