George H. Galvin

Mr. George H. Galvin, of Weymouth, passed away May 4, 2022.

He was born in Weymouth to the late George and Kathryn Galvin. George was born and raised in Weymouth. He was a graduate from Weymouth High School and received his B.S. from Boston College in 1954. George served our country in the Navy from 1955-1957. He later graduated with a Masters in Education from Bridgewater State College. George was a lifelong learner and educator who taught 5^th grade in Florida and Scituate, MA. He was also a loved Principle for Scituate Public Schools. George was an avid reader and had a prolific vocabulary. He also loved gardening, cooking, history, and being a father and a grandfather. His sense of humor was never-ending and his smile lit up the room. He was never without a song and loved to sing songs that reminded him of his late wife Patricia. Loving brother of the late Mary Killian, David Galvin, Jane Galvin and John Galvin.

Also survived by his sons Michael and Jeremy, his granddaughter Nicole Galvin, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
