George Fanandakis

Fanandakis, George of Weymouth, formerly of Norwood, died June 3, 2015 at the age of 92.

For 64 years George was a devoted husband to his wife, Helen, who cherished his family above all else. He worked hard in the food service industry for both the Ritz Carlton and Jimmy’s Harborside in Boston. Long before it was popular, George was an avid runner, which he continued until recently. He was a man of strong faith, discipline, and a source of inspiration to his family. He will be dearly missed

Beloved husband of Helen (Marinakis) Fanandakis of Weymouth. Devoted father of Dr. Fran Clairmont and her husband Dr.George Clairmont of Norwell, Nicholas Fanandakis and his wife Rosemary of PA and Karen Narkiewicz of Sharon, who was like a daughter to him. Loving brother of John Fanandakis and his wife Angela of Newton and the late Terry and Peter Fanandakis. Cherished grandfather of Katherine Clairmont, Matthew Fanandakis, Nicole Murphy and great-grandchildren Katherine Rose and Emma Grace Murphy. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Monday 11 AM in St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church,119 Common Street, Braintree. A funeral service will follow in the church at 12 PM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30 PM.
