Mutch, George Edward, Sr. of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died December 20, 2014.
George proudly served as a US Army Paratrooper in the Rakkasans, a regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Naval Firefighter at NAS So. Weymouth for over 30 years, retiring as Fire Chief in 1990. George thrived in his retirement. He enjoyed boating and winters spent in Naples, FL with his wife and family. He was also a member of the Rose Cliff Association of Weymouth. He will be sadly missed.
Beloved husband of 54 years to Gail T. (Blake) Mutch of Weymouth. Devoted father of George E. Mutch, Jr. and his wife Maryanne and John F. Mutch, II and his wife Lisa, all of Weymouth. Cherished “Papa” of George E. Mutch, III, Alexander, Kaylee and John F. Mutch, III. Also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.) Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 AM. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
Donations in memory of George may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Dr., Rockland, MA 02370.
