George E. O’Connell

 O’Connell, George  E., Jr. of North Easton, died September 9, 2014.

George grew up in Quincy and later lived in Weymouth before moving to North Easton. He worked for Gillette for over 30 years, retiring in 1999 as a supervisor. He went on to work for Universal Fixture in Braintree, where he has remained for the last 10 years. George was a funny and outgoing man who loved sports and attending the activities that his grandchildren participated in. He was also an avid traveler, especially enjoying St. Thomas and multiple trips to Maine. He will be sadly missed. 

Beloved husband of the late Sheila (Patterson) O’Connell. Loving companion of Ona L. Bernstein of North Easton. Devoted father of George E. O’Connell, III and his wife Jennifer of Ohio, Philip M. O’Connell and his wife Heidi of Quincy and Siobhan S. Gallen and her husband Michael of Quincy. Cherished “Papa” of Riley, Niamh, Makayla, Emmaline, Brayden and Abigail. Loving cousin of Anne Bell of Weymouth.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Saturday at 10 AM. Burial in Village Cemetery, Weymouth.
