Smith, George C., Jr. of Quincy December 26, 2006. Beloved husband of 29 years to the late Jeanne (Daley). Loving father of Kevin F. Smith & his wife Molly Jenks of Reading, Carole S. & her husband John Gerien of NY, Dianne S. & her husband Steven Pires of NY, Stephen G. & his wife Mona Smith of Marshfield, Barry Smith & his wife Susan Ogrodnik-Smith of North Reading, & the late Brian F. Smith. Loving brother of the late Nancy Smith. Cherished grandfather of ten grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Saturday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 9 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4- 8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. George was born in Somerville and grew up in Quincy. He served in the army during WWII and later graduated from Bentley College. Mr. Smith assisted in founding the South Shore Halfway House where he was president for 20 years. He was also a member of the Lion’s Club, St. Ann’s Holy Name and Men’s Committee. George was active in politics, running for school committee and ward 5 council.
