George C. Moore

Moore, George C. of Hanover, formerly of South Weymouth, passed away at the age of 77 on August 7, 2021. George was born in Everett to the late George D. and Mary Moore. George attended Milton High School and later Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He loved working and spent many years as a proud finish carpenter until retirement. He was also a dedicated property owner of Columbian Apartments since 1977. George had a lifelong enjoyment of antique cars and had been maintaining his 1933 Ford hot rod since he was a teenager. He was always hardworking, often found maintaining his yard or tending to his tomato plants, if not another project.

Beloved husband of 43 years to Ruth A. Moore of Hanover. Loving father of Jennifer A. Mills and husband Sean of Brockton and George E. Moore and life partner Sarah Fields of Salem. Cherished brother to Richard O. Moore and his wife Kathleen of Tom River, NJ and predeceased by his brother Russell D. Moore. Dear uncle of Kristin Compton and Jonathan Moore. George was survived by many cousins and close friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-7 P.M. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Burial will be private. In loving memory of George, please consider a donation in his name to The Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452, alz.org.
