Genevieve “Jean” S. Garrity

Garrity, Genevieve “Jean” S. (Radzik) met eternal life on April 29, 2010. Born in South Boston, the eight of ten children born to Constantine and Josephine Radzik. She married Thomas Garrity and they made their home in the city of Quincy for a period of time and then on to Braintree, residing there for the past 50 years. Jean made a significant contribution to the World War Two Home Front as one of the first woman welders employed by the Fore River Ship Yard. Later her skills and talents were engaged as an executive secretary by various organizations. For many years, Jean was involved with the Quincy Emblem Club; first as the corresponding secretary and then later in 1967 she was honored to be president. She was a prolific artist, taking great pride in the interior design of her home and flower garden. She had a heart of gold and will forever be remembered in our hearts as a wonderful wife, sister to Stan Radzik and favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Celebration of Life at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church at 10:00 AM. Burial in Braintree Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Quincy Lodge of Elks, No.943, 254-256 Quarry St., Quincy, MA 02169-4130
