Gary R. Shutter

Gary R. Shutter, born on May 22, 1950, in Camden, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, in Boston, Massachusetts. Gary's presence was a source of joy to all who knew him. 

Gary was the beloved husband of Claudia A. Shutter (Kenney) with whom he shared a life full of love and companionship. He was an affectionate brother to Wayne Shutter of New Jersey and carried the memory of his late sister, Charlann Tucker, in his heart. Gary’s role as an uncle was cherished by Shawn Tucker, Tanya Davignon, Jessica Shutter and Chris Shutter and his many great-nieces and nephews. Gary was also the dear brother in law to Sister Mary Jane Kenney, S.M.S.M. in Waltham, Thomas Kenney of Quincy and Bonnie Kenney of Braintree.

His academic journey ranged from Rowen University to certificates of Business Administration from Bentley, Babson and Harvard Universites. Gary dedicated many years of service to Dunkin” Donuts Corporate Offices. His expertise and passion for his work led him to various positions from Instructor at Dunkin” Donuts University, Franchisee consultant and as a Market Planner. 

Beyond his professional life, Gary was an active member of the South Shore Camera Club. His love of photography was part of a broader passion for world travel with Claudia and friends. He also shared his gifts as a volunteer with seniors in financial difficulty. Gary especially enjoyed music, visits with friends and laughing at a funny joke.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 2-5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Clare’s Church, Braintree at 10 AM.
