Gary Schoonover

Schoonover, Gary of Norwell, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family December 28, 2013.

Beloved husband of Darlene Madej of Norwell. Loving son of  Elinor (Butler) O’Leary of Weymouth.  Cherished father of Cortney M. Schoonover of Weymouth, Gary J.  Schoonover, Jr. of Brockton, Alison L. Schoonover of Weymouth. Dear brother of Kathy Miller-Lopata of Weymouth, Cindy Lopez of CA, Paula O’Leary of Brockton, Pam Lambert of FL and the late Edward, Jr. and Ricky Schoonover.  Loving grandfather of  Erin E. Martin and Andie Rose Giachetti.  He is also survived by his beloved German Shepherd, Jack. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

For many years, Gary owned and operated his own landscaping company. He was a generous family man who loved the outdoors, martial arts, cooking on the barbecue, good friends, rockin’ roll, the blues and jazz music. Gary will be remembered for his amazing landscaping expertise as well as his handyman skills.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours 3 – 6 PM followed by a Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 5, 2014, 6 – 7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.).
