Gail Norma Morganelli

Gail Morganelli passed away at her Quincy home on January 15, 2025 at the age of 86. She is survived by her sons, Lee Morganelli of Quincy, Lance Morganelli of Attleboro and his wife Alexis (Ticotin) Morganelli and granddaughter Francheska Morganelli, and her sister Jo-Ella Sarruda. Gail lived in several Massachusetts cities including Canton, Attleboro, and Mansfield. She graduated from Attleboro High School in 1956 and her first job was at a bank in downtown Attleboro.

She also lived in Cleaveland during the early 1960s where she was the executive secretary to the editor-in-chief of the Cleaveland Press. In the late ‘60s she returned to Massachusetts, where she lived in Canton then Quincy while working at Instron. She met Pasquale Morganelli in 1971 at Mosley’s on the Charles – a live band dance hall – and they married a year later. Their marriage spanned a strong 46 years in Quincy until her husband passed in 2018.

Well into raising her two sons from the 1970s through 1990s she returned to her profession as secretary in the Quincy Public Schools, working her way through the ranks in various departments, until retiring as executive secretary to the lead guidance counselor and five other guidance counselors at North Quincy High School. Both Gail & Pasquale donated their time as Wollaston Senior Center Translation & Interpretation Teachers (Asian American Service Association, Inc.)

Gail enjoyed gardening in her yard with her husband every spring, summer, and autumn. She was a long-time member of the Wollaston Garden Club where she served a few terms as co-treasurer and always participated in plant sales and beautifying public parts of Quincy with her fellow Garden Club members. She expanded her love of plants by achieving a certificate in Ikebana, which demonstrated her proficiency in the art of Japanese flower arrangement.

In her free time, Gail was an oil painter and sketch artist. Over the years some of her art hung around her house, but mainly she used painting as a meditative grounding activity that regenerated her spirit and kept her in peak form as a caring and creative mom and loving wife.

Visiting hours will be held at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St, Quincy, MA 02170 on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Wollaston, 81 Prospect Ave, Quincy, MA 02170 on January 27, 2005 at 11 a.m., followed by burial services at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
