F. Peter Fee

Fee, F. Peter, son of the late Thomas E. and Marie (Cheverie) Fee, passed away peacefully after a short illness with his family at his side on October 8th, one day before his 85th birthday.

Born in Quincy, MA, on October 9, 1929, he attended Quincy Grammar schools and graduated from Thayer Academy in 1948. He continued his education and graduated from Boston University School of Public Relations and Communication in 1956, after serving in the U.S. Navy for three years during the Korean conflict.  Peter was employed by the George H. Peterson Company in Quincy, MA as a licensed Master plumber. He left that field and was employed by Sundstrand Corporation of Rockford, Illinois where he was involved in sales and sales management of aviation and allied fuel pump equipment. He retired from Sundstrand and Suntec Industries in 1998. Peter was a long-time resident of Hingham, MA, the ancestral home of The Fee Family of Ireland, in the U.S. for over 150 years. Active in community affairs, he was a former member and chairman of the Personnel Board, a Trustee of the Hingham Public Library, and a Trustee of the Hingham Bathing Beach.  A summer resident of Deer Isle, Maine for over 24 years, he served as president of the Reach Community Club and was a volunteer at the Deer Isle Welcome Center. He was also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter in Weymouth, MA. and an Honorary Member of the 456th Bomb Group of the Fifteenth Air Force.

Peter was predeceased by his parents and four older brothers, Robert T. Fee, Richard A. Fee, William H. Fee, Thomas E. Fee, Jr., all veterans of World War II. And also by his faithful dog, Francis Albert Augustus Schwartz, or Gus, for short. Shy by a few months of celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary, he is survived by his wife, Jacqueline M. (Frawley), of Braintree, his devoted daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Cook, and her husband, Peter Cook: his beloved son, John Peter Fee, and his wife Lynn, and his two cherished granddaughters, Emily Elizabeth Fee and Kayla Rose Fee. Also surviving are his three step-grandchildren, April Downey, Ashley Cleere, and Thatcher Cook, his sister-in-law Kathleen Fee, his brother-in-law, Richard E. Cunningham and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:30 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
