Frederick M. Dosenberg passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 15, 2022. He was 86 years old. Fred was born in Quincy, MA on March 29, 1936, he was the son of the late Frederick A. and Mildred P. (Pearson) Dosenberg.
Fred was a devoted and loving husband to Dorothy H. Dosenberg (”Dodie” Kingdon) for 64 beautiful years. Loving father of Debbie Cordier and her fiance, Michelangelo, of Weymouth, Douglas Dosenberg and his wife, Melissa, of Louisiana, Susanne Kelly and her husband, Paul, of Weymouth, the late Kenneth Dosenberg and his former wife, Patty, of Weymouth, and the late Gregory Dosenberg and his former fiance, Karen of Abington. Loving Grampy to Derek, Brianna, Luci, Kaitlyn, Jaimie, Evan, and Grace and Great Grampy to Everleigh. Fred was well loved by an extended family and he was also a mentor, father-figure and friend to many. Overall, he was many things to many people; the legacy he leaves us and examples of how to live life, would fill pages.
He was raised in East Braintree, MA. and graduated from Braintree High School in 1954 where he remained actively engaged with the reunion committee in recent years. Fred was a member of the Braintree High School Football team, attended Boston University, and was drafted into the Navy near the end of the Korean War. He served as a radio man aboard the U.S.S. Witek EDD-848. Upon discharge from the Navy in 1958, he served an apprenticeship in Pipefitters Local 537, Boston, MA where he was a lifelong member. He actively participated as a coach in the Weymouth Youth Soccer and Pop Warner Football programs in the 1980’s. When he retired in 2000, Fred was a Vice President of Thomas G. Gallagher, Inc, mechanical contractors of Cambridge, MA.
Fred was an active member of the Episcopal Christ Church in Quincy, where he served as an usher, counter, vestry-man, warden, and property manager as long as he could!
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, June 21st, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home located at 809 Main Street, South Weymouth, MA (Route 18 across from the South Shore Hospital).
A Celebration and Thanksgiving for Fred’s life takes place at Christ Church, 12 Quincy Avenue, Quincy, MA on Wednesday, 22 June, at 10:00 a.m.
