Cobban, Frederick J. of North Quincy, age 88, died peacefully March 1, 2009. Beloved husband of 62 years to Sarah (DiCarlo) Cobban. Loving father of Fred Cobban, Jr. & wife Jane of Quincy, Rick Cobban & wife Helen of Abington, Sarale & husband Dave Perdios of Milton, Kevin Cobban & wife Lisa of Sandwich, and the late Sharon Fitzgerald. Loving “Pop” of Shana, Ilana, Alyssa, Scott, Stacey, Marc, Kyle, Ryann, and Avery. Brother of Dick Cobban of Quincy, Barbara Joyce of Marshfield, the late Bill Cobban and the late John Cobban Fred served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in Germany where he was a POW. A graduate of North Quincy High School 1939, he was a lifelong NQHS Athletic Booster and was also an avid Red Sox and Bruins fan. For over 35 years he worked as a letter carrier in Quincy and retired in 1983. He was a member of the Morrisette Post #294 and the D.A.V. in Quincy. A lifelong resident of North Quincy, Fred was also a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Wednesday at 10:45 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 11:30 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Drive, Natick, MA 01760
