Frederick A. Loud, Sr.

Frederick A. “Fred” Loud, Sr. a proud lifelong resident of Weymouth and a U.S. Army Veteran, died October 25, 2015 at the age of 87.

Fred worked for 42 years at Massachusetts Electric, retiring as a head lineman. He was an incredibly hard working man and often held several jobs throughout the years to support his family. Family always came first for Fred and being a dad, granddad and husband was the most important part of his life. In retirement, Fred delivered flowers for Ford’s Florist in Weymouth where he enjoyed bringing a smile to people’s faces. An avid sports fan, he played baseball and football at Weymouth High School and coached Little League Baseball for his son’s teams. Always an optimist, Fred would answer with a spirited “Terrific!” when asked how he was doing. He will be fondly remembered and missed by the many friends who referred to him as “Ole Peppa”. Fred had many sayings. One of his most memorable was “Three D’s and a Big H”, which meant “Drive, Determination and Desire with a lot of Heart” and that was how Fred lived his life.

He was the son of the late Harold and Grace Loud. Beloved husband of Patricia M. (Hickey) Loud. Loving father of Frederick Loud, Jr. and wife, Susan of Sandwich, Joe Loud and wife, Roberta, of Weymouth, Richard Loud and wife, Brenda of Sandwich, William Loud and Deb Loud, both of Weymouth. Devoted brother of the late Mary Connell and Natalie Kane. Also lovingly survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 PM.
