Frank W. Long, Sr.

Long Frank W. Sr. of Braintree formerly of Winter Haven, FL died Thursday, May 20, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Manor in Brockton. beloved husband of Virginia D. (Foye) Long of Braintree. Loving father of James W. Long of W. Bridgewater, Robert A. Long of CA, Richard J. Long of FL, Margery A. Long of Braintree, Frank W. Long Jr. of CA, Thomas M. Long of MN, and the late Virginia A. “Val” Long. Brother of the late Richard S. and Harry E. Long. Devoted grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Frank was also the grandfather of the late Daniel Long. Frank worked for A&P Stores for 40 years before retiring as assistant manager in 1983. Frank enjoyed woodworking and leatherworking he was by all means a craftsman. He was a man who loved to dance with his wife Virginia and spending time gardening. Frank was a troop leader for Boy Scouts and was a proud member of the American Legion in Braintree for many years. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Most of all Frank loved his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Sunday, May 23, 2010 3-6PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:15AM on Monday, May 24, 2010 prior to the Funeral Mass in St.Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree at 9:00 AM.
