Meallo, Frank of Hingham, passed away November 15, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Marie (Luggelle) Meallo. Devoted father of Ted Galo of Hingham, Lydia DeCoste of Abington, Barbara Achille of Port Charlotte, FL, Franny McInnis of Hingham, Dolly Johnson of Hingham, Joyce Baglione of Hingham, Robin Martell of Cohasset, and the late Wally Galo. Brother of Albert Meallo of Cohasset, Teresa Howell of Indiana, and the late Louis Meallo, Carmella Froio, Mary Forgione, Billy Meallo and Joe Meallo. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Frank’s family was the most important part of his life and he was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor. Born in Cohasset, Frank was a long time resident and employee of the Town of Hingham. He was a U.S Army Veteran and served in Europe during WWII. He has been a fixture at Cohasset Golf Course for over 30 years. Frank served as an usher at Church of the Resurrection in Hingham, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sons of Italy. Frank was a lucky, lucky man. His family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Renaissance Gardens for their patience, kindness and support. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Family and guests will go directly to church on Saturday morning where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham Saturday at 10 AM. Burial in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset. Donations in memory of Frank may be made to Marie R. Meallo Scholarship Fund, Town of Hingham, Treasurer’s Office, 210 Central Street, Hingham, MA 02043.
