Frank J. Purpura, 90, of North Weymouth passed away on June 26th, 2018 after a short illness.
Son of the late James and Mary Purpura of Quincy. Beloved husband of the late Mary K. Purpura. Loving Father of Catherine Harrington and Husband Robert of Weymouth. Deborah Nuguid and Partner, Daniel Geagan of Rockland, Linda Purpura and Companion Frances Mazzeo of Raynham and the late Frank J. Purpura, Jr.
Survived by 8 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter and many Nieces and Nephews. Also survived by his sister Mary Rossi and brother John Purpura of Quincy.
Frank loved his family dearly. He was an avid cribbage player and enjoyed WII Bowling and playing Keno. He frequently visited the Whipple Center in Weymouth. Frank was thrilled when he was invited as a WWII Veteran to travel to Washington, DC on an Honor Flight for veterans to visit the many war memorials.
He was a lifetime Member of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Weymouth and a lifetime Member of the Weymouth Elks. He was retired from Armstrong in Braintree many years ago and also worked for Bra-Wey Florists in Weymouth Landing where he enjoyed delivering flowers and seeing the smile on the faces of the recipients.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in Pilgrim Congregational Church, Weymouth. Burial will follow in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to V.A. Hospital, 940 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
