Frank J Murano, 100, passed peacefully at home Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Whitman, Massachusetts.
Born August 10, 1921 in South Boston, MA, he was the son of Luca and Maria Murano, Italy.
Frank served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He later continued to serve the community as a Boston Firefighter.
Frank was always the motivator for people to get up and move. He could often be heard saying “move it or lose it”. He truly lived one day at a time and never looked back. He was a “jack of all trades” and could always offer the best solution to any problem presented to him. Frank was a sports enthusiast and among the numerous awards he received during his life, he was inducted into the National Senior Softball Hall of Fame in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Ann (Sheehan).
Survivors include his children: Pauline Murano of Hull, Frank Murano of Quincy, James (MaryLou) Murano of Naples, Florida, Joanne (Anthony) Laubacher of Whitman, Linda (Raymond) Bradley of Canton; grandchildren: Raffaella and Valerie, Kristen, Amanda and Ashley, Erik, Luke and Audrey, Robert, Lauren and Stephanie; great grandchildren: Davide, Olivia and Vittoria, Christina and Claire, Olivia, Stella and Noah, John, Teagan; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Requiem Mass will be held at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes, Newton Highlands, MA on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 10 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment is private.
