Burke, Frank E. of Statesboro, GA, formerly of Quincy died June 20, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor (MacDonald) Burke. Devoted father of Frank E. Burke, Jr. of Holliston, Virginia Burke of Monson, and the late Gerard J. Burke. Loving brother of the late John V., George S., Florence, Rev. Joseph A. Burke and Rita Jacobson. Cherished grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish in Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2 – 6 PM. Burial in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in memory of Frank E. Burke may be made to Holy Trinity Parish in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1000 Sea Street, Quincy, MA 02169. Francis E. Burke, Sr., 90, a long time resident of Quincy, died June 20 in Statesboro, GA. He was the beloved husband of the late, Eleanor M. Burke, cherished father of Francis E. Burke Jr., Holliston, Virginia P. Burke, Monson and the late Gerard J. Burke Sr. He was also predeceased by his parents John F. Burke and Cecilia D. Burke and siblings Reverend Joseph A., John V., George S. and Florence T. Burke and Rita Jacobson. Frank served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from the Boston Globe in 1973 with over 20 years as a Printer/Compositor. Frank was a member of the Boston Typographical Union Local #13 and the Franklin Typographical Society. He was an avid reader, nature lover, Red Sox fan and student of life. He will be missed dearly by these survivors: Frank E. Burke, Jr. of Holliston, Virginia Burke of Monson, Carlyn Burke(daughter in law) of Atlantic Beach, FL, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends Dot and Larry.
