Francis P. Doherty

Doherty, Francis Patrick, 50, of North Quincy, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a valiant 31 years on kidney dialysis September 30, 2017.

Born in Boston, he was the beloved son of Virginia (Kelly) and the late Bernard J. Doherty. Loving brother of Bernard F. and Robin (McManus) Doherty and their daughter Carrie of Tewksbury, William J. Esquire and Dr. Xiao Doherty and their daughter Emily of Wilbraham, and Elizabeth and James Sayers and their daughter Brianna of Marshfield, and the late Thomas J. Doherty. Also survived by many cousins and friends.

Francis was a graduate of Sacred Heart School, Quincy Vo-Technical High School, and University of Lowell with a Bacheor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked in the private sector before joining the City of Quincy Traffic Department. He was the Junior Traffic Engineer. He was a former member of St. Ann’s Band in Dorchester.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 11 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 12 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
