Francis R. Spellman

Spellman, Francis R. of Braintree, 84, passed away March 27, 2017 after a period of failing health.

Frank grew up in Dorchester, was a resident of Hingham for over 30 years, later retiring in Braintree. Frank was a graduate of Dorchester High School and Boston College class of 1954. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Frank was a First Lieutenant during the Korean Conflict. Frank built a career as an investment broker and retired from his own business, First Dunbar Associates, in 2008. He was a longtime member of the Clover Club in Boston and Cohasset Golf Club. Frank loved to spend time with his family at Sandy Beach in Cohasset. We will miss his laughter and love of life. 

 Beloved husband of 50 years to Susan (Champion) Spellman of Braintree. Cherished father of Frank Spellman and his wife Kathy of Mansfield, Kathy Green and her husband Art of Hingham, Lisa Williams and her husband Ken of Norwell, Chris Spellman and his wife Charla of Pembroke, Jen Fiorella and her husband Steve of Norwell and Susie Dougherty of Hanover. Treasured Grandpa of 19 grandchildren whom he adored. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George and Rose (Sullivan) Spellman and his sister Claire Gallagher.

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 11 AM.
