Francis M. Gillooly, Jr.

Gillooly, Francis M., Jr. “Frank” of Quincy formerly of Whitman, died August 16, 2018.

Beloved husband of 20 years to the late Kathleen Gillooly. Loving father of Kevin Gillooly of Bridgewater and Mark Gillooly and his wife Alicia of Bridgewater. Cherished son of the late Francis and Alice Gillooly. Caring brother of John Gillooly and his wife Elaine of Hingham, Bob Gillooly and his wife Elaine of Plymouth and the late Nancy Gillooly and William Gillooly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Frank retired from Polaroid where he worked as a supervisor for 35 years. After his retirement, he worked at Milton Hoosic Golf Course, where he continued to master his game of golf. Frank was an avid Boston sports fan, especially for the New England Patriots. In his earlier years, he enjoyed coaching youth baseball. Many of Frank’s happiest moments came from the times he spent with his sons, Kevin and Mark, attending their games in Whitman and at Cardinal Spellman, making big dinners and watching sports together. It was obvious to all how blessed and proud he felt to be their Dad. Frank had a unique sense of humor and could make all those around him laugh. He will be sadly missed by all those who had a pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in St. James Cemetery, Whitman.
