Holland, Francis L. “Dutchie” Ret. QFD, of Quincy, passed away April 16, 2012 at John Adam’s Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Marguerite L. “Peggy” Holland. Devoted father of Mary T. Chase and her husband William Jr. of Quincy. Brother of the late Thomas Holland, Mildred Pearson, Catherine Keaney and Dorothy Hollander. Loving “Gramp” to his daughter and son in law’s golden retrievers Shamus and Casey Chase. Dutchie was born in Boston and lived most of his life in Quincy. He worked as a Firefighter for the City of Quincy for 40 years before retiring in 1988. Dutchie was a member of the Quincy Fire Local 792 IAFF, Quincy Firefighter’s Relief Association and a past member of the Ward 4 Community Center. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing, bowling and all types of music. Dutchie was a proud WWII Navy Veteran who was the recipient of many medals including the WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. Above all things Dutchie was a true friend and his family was the most important thing in his life. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in memory of Francis may be made to A Charity of your choice .
