Francis J. “Sonny” Martorana

Francis J. “Sonny” Martorana of Brockton, formerly a longtime resident of Quincy, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2023.  He was 80.

Sonny was born in Boston to the late Theresa (Valenzola) and Salvatore Martorana and raised in Quincy.  When he was 19, he enlisted in the US Navy and served 4 years of active duty before entering the reserves.

In his spare time, Sonny was very active.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife Marie to New Hampshire and Las Vegas.  He was an outdoorsman and artist, spending plenty of time fishing and drawing.  He would often listen to jazz music and loved dancing with his wife.  He also enjoyed playing the lottery and scratch-off  tickets and won often. 

Sonny was a devoted husband and caring stepfather, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He had a great sense of humor. His famous “fist bumps” and broad smile will be missed by all who knew him.

Beloved husband of 38 years to the late Marie Martorana (O’Toole).  Stepfather  of  Nancy Koba and her husband, Wade Koba, of Ossining, NY,  Karen Quinn of Quincy, MA, the late Linda Quinn and Stephen Quinn, loving  grandfather of Erica Kintscher and her husband Christopher, Miranda and Stephen Koba and Katie Quinn-Cyr and great-grandfather of Anthony, Christian and Jaxson Kintscher.  Predeceased by his siblings, Salvatore Martorana, Joseph Martorana and Josephine Russell and his parents, Theresa and Salvatore Martorana.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, October 27th, from 10:30-11:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:30 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
