Francis J. Gilmartin

Gilmartin, Francis J. of Scituate, formerly of Quincy, passed away May 24, 2011, at the Cardigan Nursing Home in Scituate. Loving brother of Marie Welch of Scituate and the late James E. Gilmartin and Joseph P. Gilmartin. Brother-n-law of the late Robert F. Welch. Also survived by many family and friends. Francis was born in Boston, and had lived many years in Quincy before moving to Scituate twenty-five years ago. He had worked for General Dynamics as a Department Clerk from 1966- 1973 as well as a custodian for Chase Corporation in Randolph. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Scituate, a usher for Saint Mary Church of the Nativity Church in Scituate and Saint Mary’s Church in Quincy for over forty years. Francis was also a Korean War Veteran serving with the United States Navy. The family would like to thank the staff at Cardigan Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Francis. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-7 P.M. in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Mary of the Nativity Church, at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
