Francis “Frank” J. Derwin, of Quincy, died April 17, 2013.
Frank was a teamster for Local # 25 for over forty years until his retirement. He had also worked for over 20 years in the maintenance department at Quincy Youth Arena. He was also a former President of the Mass Chapter of Civilian Conservation Corp for many years, as well as sponsored the bill along with Michael Morrissey making March 31st “CCC Day”, a longtime member of the Silver Harred Legislators. Frank was also a World War II veteran serving with the United States Army.
Beloved husband of the late Eileen (Hurley)Loving father of Christine Keefe and her husband, Robert of Salem, Paul Derwin and his wife, Luba, and Patricia Mattar all of Brockton. Brother of James Derwin of Plymouth and the late William, Edward, Mary and Jackie. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchilden and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Monday from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Mass National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Quincy Youth Hockey Arena, 60 Murphy Memorial Drive, Quincy, MA 02169
