Francis I. Butler

Mr. Francis I. Butler, of Weymouth, passed away on January 26, 2023. He was 93.

Beloved husband of the late Mary V. (Zanga) Butler.

Loving father of Denise Butler-Bowen of Weymouth, and Michelle Fraser and her husband, Timothy of Middleboro. Brother of Shirley Buccini and her husband, Robert, of Rockland.

Cherished grandfather of Sean and his wife Brittany, of Toronto Canada, Jillian and her wife, Nicole, of New Market, NH, and Olivia of Weymouth. Great grandfather of Martin.

Born in Weymouth, son of the late Francis and Marjorie Butler, Francis married and raised his family in Dorchester, MA where he worked for 25 years for French Shriner Corporation before going to work for Blake and Rebhan Company in South Boston. At the age of 82 he retired from Fidelity Investments as a courier. A proud Korean war veteran he served his country with distinction with the U.S. Air Force. In his spare time, Francis enjoyed reading, bike riding, playing chess, and cribbage. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Friday, February 3rd, from 8:30AM- 9:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Cremation to follow.
