Francis Carl “Frank” McFaun, Jr. of Braintree, a retired linesman with New England Telephone Co., died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 with his family at his side.
He was 74. Born in Boston in 1940 to the late Francis McFaun Sr. and Gertrude (Connolly) McFaun, Frank attended and graduated Woburn High School. He served in the U. S. Army from 1963 to 1965 and shortly after married Patricia L. Burns of Somerville, MA. Eventually settling in Braintree MA, Frank worked for New England Telephone until he retired. Frank was a skilled carpenter and spent his free time on household projects including building his vacation home in New Hampshire. He was a true outdoorsman who loved to be on the water on his boat. He was an avid reader and loved music, particularly the works of Elvis Presley. His greatest love however, was for his wife, children, and grandchildren. When his wife Patricia suffered a severe brain injury in 2010 Frank dedicated himself completely to her care and recovery. He never wavered in his devotion and was a tireless advocate for her, proving that true love is selfless.
Frank leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia L. McFaun of Braintree. Loving father of Michael McFaun and his wife Karen of Weymouth, James McFaun and wife Cheryl of Norton, Sandra McFaun-Donovan of Braintree, and Jill McFaun-Solimini and her husband Brian of Abington.
