Frances P. Conkey

Conkey, Frances P. (Liberkowski) of Hingham, passed away October 8, 2015 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born in Argenteuil, France,  She lived through World War II, where she met the love of her life, Walter E. Conkey, Sr.  They would return from Paris to settle in Hingham for the rest of their lives. 

Frances adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was happiest when she was around them. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, gardening, and traveling back home to France when she could. She was independent with a strong core and knew what she wanted, all while still being the kind, generous, and caring woman everyone knew her as. Frances lived simply but happily and was always positive, no matter the situation. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Daughter of the late Jean and Antonine (Stropynska) Liberkowski. Beloved wife of the late Walker E. Conkey Sr. Devoted mother of Walter E. Conkey, Jr. and his wife Debra of Hingham, Patricia Conkey and her partner Ken Williams of Hingham, and the late Anne Dow and Deborah Ducharme. Cherished grandmother of Derek Williams of Alaska, Walter Conkey III of Geneva, NY, Kristen Conkey Stanton of Scituate, Kimberly Conkey Strazzere of Exeter, NH and Stacy Ducharme of Hull.  She also had 5 great grandchildren she cherished.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 9:30-10:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frances may be made to Make-A-Wish America, 4742 N. 24th Street, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016.
